Nicely written characters, no graphic sex tho there is a little talk of it, not a lot of bad language. You really feel like you are there. You do care about most of the characters.That being said, lot of people may not like these because you get a lot of utterly gorgeous women and strong handsome men doing the right thing and falling in love even tho they are unlikely pairs. There's an unwed teen pregnancy that nobody seems to object to. I found the character of Lacy incredibly annoying and she's the focus of book 2. There are a lot of stereotypes. The bad guys are all entirely bad with no apparently redeeming qualities. The good guys are all entirely good... they may have some mistakes in their past but they repent and lead wholesome straightforward lives. Some of them are hot tempered but deep down, they are good so nobody holds their bad tempers against them. The women, with the exception of Fran, Ashley (secondary characters), Lacy and Felicity are all very... um... let's say aggressive, jealous, catty and grudge-holding. I'm sure you know the one word that fits all those things together :)
Still and all, it was a nice light read. I got the 1st book for free and actually purchased the others, which I rarely do.

There are so many courageous and strong characters in these books, women and men.

This is book 4 of Ladd Springs. Once you start reading this series of books,you can't wait to read the next book.There are so many twist and turns,you never know what is going to happen.I would recommend these books to everyone.
This was an amazing series of books. I started with the first book and had to order all of them. The story line was excellent kept me just reading and reading then had to find out morel It was a thriller, love story and life all rolled into one. She is a magnificant writer. I enjoyed all the books in this series. Loved every one of them.
Start with book 1 and read the 4 books in the series in order. Once I started a book I didn't want to put it down until the end. The books are long but keep your interest all the way through to the end. Then I couldn't wait to start the next book in the series.
I went from one book to the next as fast as I could. I loved to see how the characters interacted with each other and how they all developed into fine people, even though the story would have wanted you to believe most of the characters were deadbeats. There are deadbeats in the story, but they have to be there to make it interesting. Enjoy the entire series - you will find you cannot put them down!
This is the fourth book in this series and the stories of the family's involved In the Forester and Ladd feud continues with appearances from trouble making Jack and at the end of the book Jeremiah. Casey is in her seventh month of her pregnancy and Jack comes drunk to confront Delaney in the hotels stable. He threatens Delaney by shoving her around and attempts to rape her, when Troy comes to the rescue he is charged with aggravated assault by Jack. The next installment is book 5.
